September 16 @ 10:10 am - 4:00 pm| £60
These days are designed to give you a taste of life at Prickly Nut Wood, as well as the opportunity to see the stunning woodland house. The day incorporates an introduction to woodland management and Timber framing in a relaxed educational format with Ben. You will be met at the parking area at 10.10am on the day (full directions upon booking) and be accompanied into Prickly Nut Wood. Ben will meet you at the outdoor kitchen and there will be tea or coffee available.
After an introduction to the woodland environment, Ben will lead you on a woodland walk where he will explain the history and management of the land and explain the current management and the source of the materials for the woodland house and other buildings.
You will return to the outdoor kitchen where there will be a leisurely break for eating pack lunches before looking at Ben’s workshop and the evolution of the roundwood timber framing techniques that Ben has developed. Ben will show you his vegetable garden and lead you to some of the other unique features like his natural swimming pond around his homestead before taking you inside the woodland house. After visiting the house, Ben will accompany those who wish to Lodsworth Larder, the award winning Roundwood Timber Frame shop in the village of Lodsworth.
Ben will have his books available for sale, which he will happily sign for you if you so wish. Other seasonal items like charcoal will be available as well. The day will finish around 4pm (1600 hours).
