I would suggest the viking longhouse at the Ancient technology centre in Cranborne Dorset at 25meter length with a hog back roof and bowed sides from 5 to 7 meters with porches may be a little bigger. The shingle number for this roof has been estimated to be nearly 80,000.

For one man however 60,000 shingles is rather an undertaking well done.

The Ancient Technology Centre in Cranborne is only open to the public on certain days. Better to check their website when they are open. Well worth a visit, but be careful the Vikings, Saxons or Romans may get you. The water wheel is well worth a look at as well. Believe it’s Roman.
