This is a practical course held at Prickly Nut Wood with Ben Law. Prickly Nut Wood is a managed coppice woodland extending to nearly 100 acres. The course will cover short and long rotation coppice. Chestnut, hazel and mixed coppice. Pure coppice and coppice with standards. wildlife conservation and adding value through products and craft. You will be involved in coppicing with hand saws and billhooks.

What to bring
Please bring sensible footwear and clothes for a visit to a working woodland. Please bring a packed lunch. Do bring cameras, photography is welcomed at Prickly Nut Wood.
What not to bring
This course is unsuitable for children. No dogs are allowed on Prickly Nut Wood courses.

Ben Law has received the Sussex Heritage Craftsman award 2017, for co-ordinating, producing and supplying 60,000 shakes for the Weald and Downland Museum in Singleton, West Sussex. This is the largest timber roofed building in the UK.
